Pedals and Puddles

Even before breakfast this morning and of her own accord, Romy strapped on her rain boots and slicker and proceeded to pedal in the rain while singing, "Rain, rain, go away, the old man is coming!" And this wasn't the first time singing and riding in the rain. Unlike her mother, she's not afraid she'll melt in the rain.

To me, seeing my kids genuinely happy and uninhibited is one of the greatest "moments" of being a mom.

Don't you wish we could learn to be happy that way again. Thank goodness for our kids and the ways they help us to remember what's most important and how to appreciate the small things.
