Traditions

Never does it seem to get old watching my girls experience things that I did as a little girl. One of which was last Saturday's Fruit Heights 6th ward primary parade. Back in the day we decorated our bikes with crepe paper, streamers and whatever else we could find in mom's craft box. And we dressed as pioneers. Great fun. So in true traditional fashion, we stuffed Rome's spokes with paper and put some festive looking something-or-other in her bike basket. She loved her fancy schmancy parade bike. I was, however, amazed at the number of motorized parade entries ie: dune buggies, scooters, 4-wheelers, etc. being ridden by the primary kids. Whatever happened to the good ol' fashioned bike?

Water games after the parade. The funniest part is that the "slide" was actually a banner for a casino... doubling as the slip 'n slide at the ward party. Whatever works. Thanks mom for the invite and the great time!

Our ward usually does the same thing, & we are so sad because this year they're not doing it. My boys loved the parade so I hope they bring it back next year...
